Bodie is well on his way to being one year old. It is hard not to gush about how much I like him. Everyday he does more and more things. He was basically standing on his own today. He has done in on one or two occasions for very short periods of time.
For the Canada Day long weekend we went up to my Mum's. It was a lovely weekend. Bodie had his morning nap on the way up and then from Merritt onwards I sat in the back with him and we read books and played with toys.

Bodie on the ride up
Mum's place is perfect for Bodie. The living room and hall was a great indoor play area for Bodie and the carpet was a padding for his knees for awhile. Mum's porch was even better. It is massive and the railing closes in the whole thing so Bodie can have the run of it. What makes it even better is that it over looks the lake, has a refreshing breeze and the smell of a mock orange in full bloom wafting over it. Bodie loved watching the swallows.

Why choose between milk and water when you can have both.
The weather was lovely and it was very relaxing. Dave bought up his bike and went for a couple of training rides. And we discovered a local winery called Sunnybrea Vineyards and Winery.
http://www.sunnybraewinery.com/ It has a free tasting room and the wines were delicious. A new tradition to add to trips to Mum's.

This might be better than milk or water!!
Bodie was totally taken with Tyhson. Bodie spent a long time talking to Tyhson. He would also crawl down the hall to Tyhson's study to see if he was around.
We gave Bodie a bath in a tub on the lawn which he seemed to enjoy. The one strange thing that we have noticed is that Bodie does not like the feel of crawling on grass. We noticed it again today when we went for a Picnic with friends. When his is on the grass he tries not to put his feet down. Instead he gets into the downward dog position.

Vancouver in the summer
On the way home from Mum's, Bodie was a superstar. We again were making great time until Langley when an accident on the bridge ground everyone to a halt. It took two hours to get from Langley to home. Dave was in the back seat with Bodie and they had a great time eating cherrios and reading games. I on the other hand got a great work out on my left quad riding the clutch.
We are hoping that Bodie is on track with sleep again. After trying the gradual waiting approach again we have moved to the straight cry it out. That means if he starts crying in the night and it isn't at least 5:30 am we just let him cry. It is a bit heart wrenching but last night he slep through the night. He made a bit of noise at 5 for 10 minutes and then fell back asleep until 6:30 am. It was fabulous and he had two naps today as well for at least and hour each. Who knows what tonight might bring.

Does it get any cuter?
He does two incredibly cute things that I just have to mention. He ks now sleeping with his stuffed monkey (Fat Monkey) tucked under his arm. And when he rolls his ball under the couch he crouches down to pear under it and there is something that is just incredibly cute about it.
A FEW DAYS LATER
Bodie has slept through the night three nights in a row and this morning he made it to 6am!!!!! He is also spent some time today placing objects into things like boxes. Very exciting.
When my camera finally recharges I will add more pictures.
