So many changes for our two-year old

The last month seems like a life time.  Bodie, who is now two, continues to be a joy and a challenge.

Our big news (although anyone who reads this already knows), we have sold our place on 6th and bought half a duplex in Kits.  We are having the floors refinishes so we are staying at a friend's place at the "univercity" at SFU who is out of town.  It is like having a vacation but still having to work.  It is convincing us that we never want to commute.  I am hopeful to move into the new place this weekend.

Every so often Bodie says "go home, go home".  I think he will be happy to see his things again.

Bodie is talking up a storm.  He sings songs with us, and requests songs by saying "twinkle, twinkle, little start, how I wonder mama?" (though apparently it isn't all that clear).

He remembers parts of stories (not surprising considering how repetitive they are anyhow many times we read them).  He will say on cue "no more monkey's jumping on the bed".

He is enjoying playing hide and seek as long as we don't hide too well.  He will hide but he pops up as soon as we say "where's Bodie?" to reassure us that he is okay.  We have figured out it is a great way to convince him to walk instead of being carried.  One of us runs ahead and hides in an obvious spot and he "sneaks up" and finds us.  Sneaking consists of taking big loud steps while saying sneaking.

The other day he sat on his cow and started saying "cow in the kitchen? no! Cow downstairs? No! Cow on the deck? No!" then when we said "where is cow?" he would pull out and laugh.

At the University there is a great new playground that allows Bodie to prove he is fearless.

Yes with very little help, Bodie can climb to the top level of this structure and slide down the slide.  He can also climb up the inside of the slide to the top platform.  It is quite a safe apparatus as there are few places that Bodie can fall out of.

We are also taking advantage of being in Burnaby to do some things that seemed too far away.  On the long weekend we went to Sasamat Lake, we went to the miniature train in Burnaby and the Powell Street festival (okay that one is in Vancouver).  We called it Bodie's birthday weekend.  We didn't do much to celebrate.  On his actual birthday, I took cupcakes to daycare, we got a pizza for dinner and went to Jericho and the next day we open the gifts mum had sent.  Okay I guess that is a nice birthday.

This picture is from one of our last weekend walks to Granville Island from West 6th.  Bodie, like most children, seems to like the sandbox and there is a great new on at Granville Island that includes a flowing stream.

When we move in our new place will be great.  It has everything we wanted.  More room, another room (for guests), more storage, two full bathrooms, a small yard and a view of the city.  When we have moved in I will do another post and take pictures.
